Egypt’s iron and steel exports rose to $472 million within four months

Egypt’s iron and steel exports rose during the period “January-April” of this year by about 1%, recording 472 million dollars, compared to 468 million dollars during the same period last year.

The monthly report issued by the Export Council for Building Materials, Refractories and Metal Industries showed that during the first four months of this year, Egypt exported iron and steel to 64 countries. (Palestine – Slovakia – Czech – Costa Rica – Benin – Croatia – Finland – Angola – Montenegro – Djibouti – Sultanate of Oman – Liberia – Jamaica – Malaysia) were not exported to in the same period last year.

The report indicated that five countries acquired about 70.5% of the total iron and steel exports during four months, led by “Spain”, which acquired 20.1% of the total exports, with a value of $95.260 million, compared to about $92.432 million during the same period in 2021, an increase of 3%. Then “Italy” acquired 18.7%, with a value of 88.372 million dollars, compared to 130.189 million dollars, a decrease of 32%, and “Saudi Arabia” ranked third, accounting for 16.8%, with a value of about 79.736 million dollars, compared to 54.274 million dollars, an increase of 47%.
