The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Iron and Steel Union, Awwad Al-Khalidi, stressed on Thursday the importance of supporting the national industry in order to provide job opportunities for youth and achieve development.
Al-Khalidi, who also heads the United Company for the Kuwait Steel Industry (Kuwait Steel), explained that “supporting the industrial sector in general and the steel and reinforced iron industry would be positively reflected in terms of increasing national employment opportunities,” calling for linking this support to the extent of industrial institutions’ willingness to absorb more labor. .
He stressed that there are several forms of this support, such as incentives in the field of taxes, support for energy consumption, and facilities in the field of real estate.
Al-Khalidi participated in the (Arab Steel Summit) conference, which concluded today in Casablanca, with the attendance of more than 200 participants representing steel and iron companies and factories from 20 countries, including the State of Kuwait, which was represented by (Kuwait Steel).
