Mines: the Algerian president gives instructions to the government to start exploiting two large iron and zinc fields

Concerning the mining sector, the Algerian President, Mr Teboune, renewed his instructions regarding the optimal and transparent exploitation of all mining energies and the national natural resources that Algeria abounds in. Stressing to enter the earliest deadlines in the exploitation of the iron mine in Ghar Djebilet in the province of Tindouf and the zinc and lead mine in the Amizour Valley (Bejaia Province) and He sent a project for making phosphoric materials in Al-Ouwinet (Tébessa).

The president additionally requested an urgent preparation of a geological plan that covers all fields, which can be exploited in the areas of rare minerals, tungsten, phosphate, barite, and other minerals.

Besides, Mr Teboune gave his approval to the proposal suggested by the minister of the sector calling for the drafting texts licensed to exploit the gold mines in Djanet and Tamanrasset by young people for non-exploitable entities and launching partnerships for major mines.

During the meeting, Mr Teboune ordered the continuation of local linking operations, especially for agricultural investors, to increase production, create jobs, and transfer the completion of the city of Hassi Messaoud to the Ministry of Housing.

The president also decided to place the Algerian Petroleum Institute under the tutelage of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
