European steel association Eurofer today submitted its registration request in the anti-dumping case against Turkish hot-rolled coil (HRC).
If the European Commission accepts the registration, a fee can be levied retroactively for three months before the imposition of provisional measures, if dumping is proven.
Temporary measures are to be announced on 23rd December this year to be imposed on 14th January 2021, which will make retroactive fees payable from mid-October.
According to Eurostat data, Turkey sold 185,906 tonnes of HRC into the EU in July, down from 341,282 tonnes, Over the first seven months of this year, Turkey has sold 1.28mn tonnes of HRC into the EU, compared to 1.97mn tonnes over the same period of last year.
