According to the preliminary data announced by the World Steel Organisation about world production (64 countries) during November 2022, crude steel production amounted to 139.1 million tonnes, a decrease of 2.6% compared to November 2021 production.
Africa produced 1.3 million tonnes of crude steel in November 2022, down by -11.4% from November 2021. Asia and Oceania produced 101.4 million tons of crude steel in November 2022, up by 2.7% from November 2021.
The European Union (27) produced 10.5 million tonnes of crude steel in November 2022, a decrease of -17.9% compared to November 2021.
Other Europe produced 3.2 million tonnes, down -25.1%, and the Middle East region produced 4.0 million tonnes, up 11.6%.
Crude steel production in North America in the same month was 8.9 million tonnes, a decrease of -6.3% compared to the same month in 2021.
Independent countries including Russia and Ukraine produced 6.5 million tonnes of crude steel in November of 2022, a decrease of -24.6% from the same year of 2021. South America produced 3.4 million tonnes, a decrease of -14.3%.

As for the Arab countries, Egypt topped the Arab countries, producing 877,000 tonnes, with an increase of -9.1%, followed by Saudi Arabia, producing 767,000 tonnes, up 62.5%. The UAE ranked third, producing 266,000 tonnes.
