The activities of the training course in the field of steel industry technology organized by the Arab Iron and Steel Union at Sulb Company in the Kingdom of Bahrain for a group of technicians were concluded today.
The program aims to provide participants with information related to the nature of melting furnaces, the proportions of materials and the interactions that accompany smelting processes. The training course dealt with the following topics:
- Electric arc furnaces
- direct arc
- submerged arc
- indirect arc
- Electric induction furnaces
- Reactions that occur in the different stages of steel production in an electric arc furnace
- Gases in the steel industry
- Crucible furnace
- Casting from an electric arc furnace
- continuous casting
- Types of products by continuous casting and rolling processes
- Defects arising from errors in continuous casting.
The program was a good opportunity to learn about the latest technologies in the steel industry and the various manufacturing methods. The trainees expressed their thanks for the good organization, both scientifically and organizationally, of the course’s activities.
The field of training is considered a major goal of AISU, which aims to raise the capacities and expertise of human resources, including engineers and technicians, in the field of iron and steel industry and develop them through various training programs organized by the Union in the technical, organizational and administrative fields.
ِAISU has implemented a number of training courses in cooperation with Arab institutions and organizations, benefiting thousands of workers in major steel companies in the Arab world.
