Tosyali Algeria’s flat plate factory entered service late last October with a production capacity of 2.5 million tons per year.

Alp Topkyoglu explained that Tosyali Algeria’s flat plate factory entered service late last October with a production capacity of 2.5 million tons per year. It includes a direct reduction, smelting and hot rolling unit, awaiting the completion of the cold rolling unit during the first half of 2026.

He added that the flat plate factory currently employs 2,200 workers, and that it will increase to 2,700 with the completion of the cold rolling unit, knowing that this unit will produce iron flats used in the manufacture of car bodies, vehicle spare parts, home electronic equipment, and others.

A member of the Board of Directors of Tosyali Algeria confirmed that thanks to this project, the company’s production capacity will increase from 6 million tons to 8 million tons annually by 2026.

He stated that Tosyali Algeria has exported about 250 thousand tons of iron sheets to the European Union countries since last August, adding that 3 thousand tons of iron sheets will be exported to Spain from the port of Mostaganem during December.

He pointed out that the company aspires through this product to enter the European market in light of the increasing demand for it, which will allow achieving an export value of around 2 billion dollars in the coming years.

The same official added that Tosyali Algeria recently concluded contracts to export iron sheets to Tunisia, South Africa and Italy, with the export areas expanding to include other countries from the European Union, the United States of America and Latin America.
