Tosyali Algeria, located in Batioua in the state of Oran, announced the export of 30 thousand tons of steel plates to Italy, according to the company’s Director of Foreign Trade, Ezzi Ramzi.

According to the statement of the company’s Director of Foreign Trade, Ezzi Ramzi, to the Algerian News Agency, “The shipping operation started last week from the port of Arzew (east of Oran), heading to Italy.”

He added that the total value of this exported quantity is estimated at about 16 million dollars, and that the value of exports of flats and plates by the end of the first quarter of this year will reach 200 million dollars.

This export is the third export operation since the beginning of this year, as the company previously exported similar quantities to Spain and Turkey, at a rate of 27 thousand tons for each operation. He pointed out that other similar operations will be carried out in the coming weeks towards the countries of the European Union.

The same source indicated that the company aims to enter the European market through this product, which will allow achieving an export value of around 2 billion dollars within the year.

This export process comes after the flat plant of the iron and steel complex “Tosyali Algeria” entered into service, late last October, with a production capacity estimated at 2.5 million tons per year.

For reference, Tosyali Algeria recently concluded contracts to export steel plates to Tunisia, South Africa and Italy, with the export areas expanding to include other countries of the European Union, as well as the United States of America and Latin America.
