Malaysia reviews anti-dumping duties on CRC imports

The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) of Malaysia will initiate a sunset review investigation on imports of cold rolled coil of alloy and non-alloy steel originating or exported from China, Korea and Vietnam. The current anti-dumping duties are slated to expire on 23 May.

MITI received a petition for the review on 15 March from Mycron Steel CRC. The company said 0.2-2.6mm thick CRC with a width of 700-1,300mm imports have increased into Malaysia, and are being dumped at prices much lower than in their respective domestic markets.

The investigation will make a final decision within 180 days from the date of initiation, and relevant parties can submit the questionnaire and investigation opinions by 11 May at the latest.

In 2019, Malaysia imposed anti-dumping duties on CRC from the above countries. The duties cover HS codes 720915, 720916.90, 720917.90 and 720918.99, covering iron and non-alloy steel with a width over 1,300mm.
