Egypt’s exports of iron and steel increased by 161% to Libya in Jan.- Feb. 2021

Egypt’s exports of iron and steel to the Libyan market witnessed a significant increase of 161% in January – February 2021, to $ 3.508 million, compared to $ 1.346 million in the same period in 2020.

According to a report by the Building Materials Council, exports of the iron and steel sector recorded a total increase of 62% in January – February 2021, to $187 million , compared to $116 million in the same period last year.

Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, announced in a press conference with the head of the Libyan National Unity Government, Abdel Hamid Dabaiba, that one of the memoranda of understanding signed with Libya was to organize the return of Egyptian workers to Libya to contribute with their Libyan brothers for reconstruction and development, and it was agreed that This return shall be an organized and planned return in the areas requested by the Libyan side.
