In the latest report of the World Steel Organization (Worldsteel), Ezz Steel ranked first in the ranking of the largest steel producers in the Arab region and Africa, with a production of 5.1 million tons, ahead of SABIC Steel in Saudi Arabia, which came in second place with a production of 4.8 million tons, while it came In third place is the Emirates Steel in the UAE, with a total production of 3 million tons, according to the latest reports of the World Steel Organization (Worldsteel) that were recently published on the largest steel producers in the world for the year 2021.
According to the report, Ezz Steel’s crude steel production increased from 4.5 million tons in 2020 to 5.1 million tons in 2021, with a growth rate of 12%, which allowed it to maintain its first position in the region for the second year in a row.
The World Steel Organization, headquartered in Brussels in Belgium, includes in its membership companies from every steel-producing country, and its members represent 85% of global steel production. It is also the main source of production and trade statistics for the global steel industry and publishes an annual list of the largest producers in the world.
It is worth noting that Ezz Steel operates 4 production units for the production of rebar and hot rolled steel plates, in Alexandria, Sadat, Ain Sukhna, and the 10th of Ramadan. Export The company achieved unprecedented exports last year, amounting to 1.3 billion dollars. In order to continue on the path of growth and meet the increasing demand, the company has invested in a new melting furnace with an annual production capacity of 1.6 million tons, which will start operating in the fourth quarter of this year, bringing its total crude steel production capacity to 7 million tons annually.
