Steel prices in the third week of August 2026

Iron and steel product prices in global markets recorded limited movements this week compared with the previous week, with a number of products remaining stable, while some products registered slight increases and decreases, according to data obtained by the Arab Iron and Steel Union.

HS1&2 steel scrap (Mix 80:20) in Turkey – CFR from the USA was priced at $376 per ton, up $1 week-on-week. Meanwhile, the price of 62% iron ore from Australia remained at $97 per ton CFR, also increasing by $1 compared with the previous week.

In the billet market, prices in Russia ranged between $465–470 per ton FOB, down by around $5 week-on-week, while the price in China reached $455 per ton FOB, up by around $3. Turkish billet imported from CIS countries was priced at $500–505 per ton CFR, unchanged week-on-week.

Turkish rebar was priced at $575–585 per ton FOB, unchanged from the previous week, while rebar from CIS countries was priced at $550–560 per ton FOB.

Wire rod prices in Turkey stood at around $580–585 per ton FOB, remaining stable on a weekly basis.

For flat steel products, Russian hot-rolled coils increased to $515–525 per ton FOB, up by $5 week-on-week, while Chinese 1 mm cold-rolled coil prices remained stable at $530–550 per ton FOB.
