These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website and mobile application of the Arab Iron and Steel Union ("AISU", "the Union", "we") (together, "the Platform"). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1. About the Platform
The Platform publishes news, reports, publications, policy papers, legislation, statistics, market and metal prices, the Arab steel map, a member company directory, and information about events and training related to the Arab iron and steel industry.
2. Accounts
- Some content and services require an account. You must provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information, including the official details of the organisation you represent.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use.
- An account is personal to the registered user and must not be shared or transferred.
- We may suspend or delete accounts that contain false information, appear fake, belong to an unidentifiable organisation, or breach these Terms.
3. Subscription packages
- The Platform offers a Free package and paid packages (Basic and Premium). The content and features each package includes are described on the packages page and may change over time.
- Paid packages are activated after you submit a subscription request and we confirm your payment by bank transfer. Activation is at our discretion, and we may reject a request whose payment cannot be verified.
- A subscription runs for the period shown when it is approved. When it expires, your account automatically returns to the Free package unless you renew.
- Fees are shown on the packages page. Unless the law requires otherwise, fees already paid are non-refundable once a subscription has been activated.
- We may change package contents or fees. Changes do not affect a subscription period that has already been paid for.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms;
- attempt to access content, accounts or systems you are not authorised to access, or to bypass the subscription restrictions;
- copy, scrape, harvest or systematically download content, data or prices by automated means;
- resell, redistribute or publicly share paid content, reports or data;
- upload or send harmful code, spam or content that is misleading, offensive or infringes others' rights;
- interfere with the security or proper operation of the Platform.
5. Intellectual property
All content on the Platform — including text, reports, publications, statistics, charts, maps, images, logos and the Arab Steel magazine — is owned by the Union or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and download content that your package includes for your own internal, non-commercial use, provided you keep all copyright notices. Any other use, including republishing, requires our prior written permission. When quoting our material, credit "The Arab Iron and Steel Union" as the source.
6. Accuracy of information
We take care to publish accurate information, but content — including prices, statistics and market data — is provided for general information only. It may come from third-party sources, may not be complete or current, and is not investment, legal or professional advice. You are responsible for decisions you make based on it.
7. Events and training
Registering for an event or training programme through the Platform is subject to confirmation and to any conditions published with that event or programme. We may change the date, venue or content of an event or programme, or cancel it, and will tell registered participants.
8. Third-party links and content
The Platform may contain links to, or content from, third parties such as member companies, partners and advertisers. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, products or practices.
9. Availability
We aim to keep the Platform available but do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time, including for maintenance.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Union is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, data or business, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Platform or its content.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data and forms part of these Terms.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the Platform after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, where the Union has its headquarters. Any dispute will first be resolved amicably where possible, and otherwise by the competent courts of Algiers.
