- Company Info: The Libyan Iron and Steel Company is considered one of the largest industrial companies in Libya. It is located on an area of 1,200 hectares near the city of Misrata, 210 kilometers to the east of the city of Tripoli. The company's design capacity is 1,324,000 tons of liquid steel per year by the direct reduction method of iron pellets using local natural gas. The foundation stone of the company was laid on September 18, 1979, marking the establishment of the heavy manufacturing base in Libya.
