- Company Info: The National Company for Iron and Steel Industry (SONASID) was established in 1974 and started production in 1984 with a production capacity of 420,000 tons of reinforcing steel and wires. In 1996 the company offered 35% of its shares in the stock exchange and the state sold 62% to investors led by SNI. In 2002, the company expanded and added a unit with a capacity of 400,000 tons to meet the needs of the market. In 2006, the company became a subsidiary of Arcelor Mittal, following a partnership between SNI and Arcelor Mittal Internation.
