The Arab Iron and Steel Union's Media Center has issued the twenty-second edition of the Arab Steel Bulletin, which addresses the rapid transformations in the Arab and global steel industry, monitors their impact on local markets worldwide, and the producers' ability to compete in an environment characterized by challenges of overcapacity, changes in international trade, escalating protectionist measures, rising energy and raw material costs, and the accelerating shift towards low-emission steel.
The edition, covering the period of October 2-8, 2026, offers an editorial vision that places the steel industry amidst a wide array of variables, starting from production, energy, trade, and prices, extending to climate policies, investment, technology, energy, value chains, and supply chains.
• The main feature of this edition focuses on the Turkish steel industry, which is facing a pivotal stage where global overproduction pressures, rising energy and scrap costs, tightening trade protection tools, and the requirements of decarbonization and the European Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) intersect.
• The feature includes insights from several experts and specialists in the Turkish industry and market, offering a multi-angled perspective on the Turkish steel sector's ability to overcome increasing competitive, commercial, and environmental pressures.
