Steel prices in the second week of June 2026

Global iron and steel markets witnessed relative stability in most raw material and steel product prices in the second week of June 2026, with some limited declines recorded in billet and wire rod prices, according to data obtained by Arab Iron and Steel Union.

Prices of HMS 1&2 (80:20 mix) scrap imported by Turkey from the United States decreased by USD 4 per tonne to reach USD 402 per tonne CFR compared with the previous week. Meanwhile, Australian iron ore fines (62% Fe) prices fell by USD 1 to USD 101 per tonne CFR.

In the semi-finished products market, Russian billet exported from the Black Sea region declined by USD 3 per tonne to USD 480–490 per tonne FOB. Chinese billet recorded the largest decrease in the week, falling by USD 8 to USD 460–470 per tonne FOB. Meanwhile, billet prices supplied to Turkey from CIS countries remained stable at USD 505–510 per tonne CFR.

In the long products segment, Turkish rebar prices remained unchanged at USD 590–600 per tonne FOB, while rebar prices from CIS countries also held steady at USD 545–550 per tonne FOB. In contrast, Turkish wire rod prices dropped by USD 8 to USD 600–610 per tonne FOB.

Regarding flat products, Russian hot-rolled coil (HRC) prices remained stable at USD 535–545 per tonne FOB, while prices of 1 mm cold-rolled coil (CRC) exported from China ranged between USD 565 and USD 585 per tonne FOB.

Overall, market performance in the second week of June reflected continued cautious sentiment among market participants amid a relative balance between supply and demand. Nevertheless, prices of certain products remained under pressure due to weak demand in several key markets and the continued availability of ample global supply.
