Global steel and raw material markets witnessed mixed price movements during the fourth week of September 2026, with scrap prices increasing, while iron ore, billet, and Turkish rebar prices declined. Meanwhile, prices of some other products remained stable.
The price of HMS 1&2 (80:20) scrap in Turkey, imported from the United States on a CFR basis, reached around $403/ton, increasing by $5/ton week-on-week.
In contrast, the price of 62% Australian iron ore declined to $98/ton CFR, down by approximately $1/ton compared with the previous week.
In the billet market, Russian billet prices remained stable at $470–480/ton FOB, with no weekly change, while Chinese billet was priced at $464–470/ton FOB, down by $1/ton. Meanwhile, prices of Turkish imported billet from CIS countries declined to $515–525/ton CFR, representing a decrease of $10/ton.
In finished steel products, Turkish rebar prices fell to $620–630/ton FOB, declining by approximately $15/ton during the week.
Meanwhile, Turkish wire rod prices remained stable at $660–670/ton FOB, with no significant change.
In flat steel products, Russian hot-rolled coil (HRC) prices remained stable at $505–510/ton FOB. Similarly, Chinese cold-rolled coil (CRC), 1 mm thickness, maintained its price level at $660–670/ton FOB.
