Global steel prices remained relatively stable this week, with only minor fluctuations observed across some products.
Scrap: Prices of HS1&2 scrap (Mix 80:20) in Turkey stood at $340/ton CFR, recording a slight weekly increase of $5, reflecting continued demand for imported scrap from the USA.
Iron ore: Prices of 62% iron ore in Australia decreased to $104/ton CFR, down by $2 week-on-week, driven by a modest decline in demand from Chinese steel mills.
Billet: Billet prices remained stable, with Russian FOB levels at $433–440/ton, while Turkey (CFR ex-CIS) recorded $450–460/ton, showing no change compared to the previous week and indicating a steady market trend.
Rebar: Rebar prices also remained unchanged, with Turkish FOB at $530–545/ton and CIS FOB at $510–520/ton, supported by consistent domestic and regional demand.
Wire rod and flat steel: Wire rod prices in Turkey FOB stayed steady at $540–550/ton. Hot-rolled coil (HRC) prices from Russia FOB slipped to $470–480/ton, down $8 week-on-week, while cold-rolled coil (CRC, 1mm) from China FOB dropped more significantly to $535–545/ton, down $15 compared to last week.
Overall, most global steel product prices held steady this week, with limited declines in flat steel products, reflecting a balanced state between supply and demand in international markets.
