In April this year, Turkey’s hot rolled coil (HRC) exports amounted to 290,626 metric tons, down by 12.3% compared to March and up by 66.6% year on year, according to the preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $173.70 million, decreasing by 7.7% compared to the previous month and up by 43.2% year on year.
In the January-April period, Turkey’s HRC exports amounted to 1.0 million metric tons, up 54.2% , while the value of these exports increased by 30% to $579.17 million, both year on year
In the given period, Turkey’s largest HRC export destination was Italy with 288,511 MT, up 116.8% year on year. Italy was followed by Spain with 159,929 MT and Portugal with 98,562 MT.
Five Arab countries were among the largest importers ofHRC from Turkey, Egypt with 65,881 MT, Libya with 32,091 MT, and Tunisia with 22,998 MT.
