On September 4, 2025, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) issued a preliminary anti-dumping ruling on certain carbon and alloy steel wire imports originating in or exported from ten countries: China, Taiwan, India, Italy, Malaysia, Portugal, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam.
The decision followed a complaint filed by Sivaco Wire Group 2004 L.P. and ArcelorMittal Long Products Canada G.P., leading to the imposition of provisional anti-dumping duties on imports from these countries.
The provisional duty rates were set as follows:
China: 3.5% – 114.2%
Taiwan, India, Italy, Spain: 138.6%
Malaysia: 3.7% – 16.6%
Portugal: 5.1% – 43.5%
Thailand: 15.9% – 29.6%
Turkey: 24.3% – 79.6%
Vietnam: 13.4% – 138.6%
