According to Chinese customs data, China’s exports of steel rebar jumped by 52.2% year on year in the January–August 2025 period, reaching 12.25 million mt. Wire rod exports also increased by 12.1% to 1.95 million mt, while exports of steel angles and channels rose by 39.2% to 5.03 million mt.
In August alone, China exported 1.63 million mt of steel bars, up 51% year on year and 2.5% month on month. Wire rod exports reached 260,000 mt, rising by 24.1% year on year and 8.3% month on month, while exports of angles and channels stood at 660,000 mt, up 43.9% year on year and remaining stable compared to the previous month.
