India’s iron ore production has been provisionally estimated at 52 million mt in the April-May period of the fiscal 2024-25, up 2% over the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, according to a statement of the ministry of mines released on Monday, July 1.
Production of manganese ore was up 16.7% to 0.7 million mt and limestone production was up 2.5% to 79 million mt, year on year, the statement said.
Arab Iron and Steel Union was established in Algeria in 1972 as the first Arab Union of the Arab countries to be founded under the Council of Economic Unity umbrella in the League of Arab States.
It is the first Arab organization to specialize in the iron and steel field, and its tasks fall within making plans aimed mainly at developing and growing the iron and steel industry in the Arab world.
