The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Egypt decided to impose final anti-dumping duties on imports of rolled sticks scheduled to reinforce concrete of origin or exported from the countries of China, Turkey and Tunisia to protect the national economy from the effects resulting from harmful practices in international trade.
The Minister of Industry and Trade, Nevin Jameh, agreed in April 2020 to the recommendation of the advisory committee to start an anti-dumping investigation against imports of rolled sticks scheduled to reinforce concrete of origin from the three mentioned countries, and a copy of the questions in the case was sent to local manufacturers, importers, and embassies of countries and notified them of the investigation .
According to Decision No. 4 of 2021 published in the Official Gazette, the period of investigation regarding dumping was from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019, and the investigations proved the damage inflicted on the national industry as a result of the practices of dumping importers.
