GCC to hold steel safeguard hearing this month

On July 21, the Gulf Cooperation Council Technical Secretariat (TSAIP) will hold a public hearing on imposing import safeguards on flat products, long products, angles, and pipes.

It is noted that the investigation was opened in October last year.

Steel industry members from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries are invited to participate.

As the steel industry in the GCC region has encountered several volatilities amid the drop in oil prices and Coronavirus worries.

Steelmaker Emirates increased rebar prices for July delivery to 1,773 dirhams/t ($482.75/t) ex-works,but it is unlikely to see returns from the unstable market.
