In July, China imported 93.476 million tonnes of iron ore, up 2.45% year-on-year, while declining 2.1% month-on-month,, according to the BMT announced by Chinese customs on August 8.
From January to July this year, China imported 669.456 million tonnes of iron ore, up 6.9% year on year.
Demand for iron ore in China slowed in the latter half of July due to the negative impact on northern China caused by typhoons, which led to weak iron ore prices and lower import volumes.
