Tosyali complex in Oran: Inauguration of third investment stage
Minister of Industry and Mines, Youcef Yousfi on Saturday inaugurated the third stage of the “Tosyali” steel complex investment in Bethioua (40km east of Oran).
The new phase of the complex, which came into production in 2013, comes within the framework of the development of Algeria’s iron and steel industry, especially through the State’s support for national and foreign investments, he said during the inauguration ceremony.
The new facility, which has been completed and successfully entered into service, is valued for the raw material of the iron and is equipped with the latest technical means, which respects the environmental standards according to the chairman of the board of the company Fouad Tosyali.
The new plant, which has been combined with the compound, includes an iron ore processing unit with a production capacity of 4 million tons per year of pellets.
The new facility also includes other units such as the 2.5 million tonne-a-year steel plant equipped with the world’s largest arc furnace and an attachment unit of the same size for direct reduction treatment
